Daniel Peterson and Erik Parr formed Haarp late in 2006 when Erik was commissioned to make a soundtrack for a research DVD at the University of Washington.  The first 3 projects were soon formed which consist of processed bass and guitar; the third made it onto the DVD.  Project 4 was created in fall of 2007 in a similar fashion but also includes processed whistling.

ProVocative Machines was composed for a class at the University of Washington and was made entirely from a one second sound clip of a human voice singing the long vowel 'A' as in father using SuperCollider and Common Music with LISP.  This piece was performed in October 2006 at a concert put on by the Center for Digital Arts and Experimental Media at the University of Washington which included composers Richard Karpen, Juan Pampin and Joshua Parmenter.

Metanoisa attempts to capture the experience of listening to music  An ambisonic recording was taken with a soundfield microphone in a room with a stereo in it, which was playing a recording of LaMonte Young's The Well-Tuned Piano.  This recording was then used as a palette on which to compose what one may experience while sitting at home listening to LaMonte's piece.
